The board of the Danish Shipowners’ Accident Insurance Association has convened an extraordinary general meeting on Tuesday 29 September 2020, at 10am, at the office of Danish Shipping, Amaliegade 33, 1256 Copenhagen K. A proposal to amend the Articles of Association is on the agenda.

In addition to a general modernisation of the Articles, including authorisation to communicate electronically with members, the proposal means that resigning members will continue to be liable for previous insurance years until such years have been closed. At present, liability ceases on the approval of the financial statements for a given year. The construction is known from the shipping companies’ P&I clubs and aims to underpin the solidarity-based model and ensure that as much capital as possible remains with members.

Under Article 7 of the Articles of Association, all members are entitled to participate in and speak at the general meeting, provided they have notified the Association of their attendance no less than five days prior to the meeting. If you wish to participate, you must notify the Association accordingly by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots. If you have any questions about the general meeting or about other topics, you are also welcome to contact CEO Jacob  Munch by e-mail to This email address is being protected from spambots.
