Modernisation of its Articles of Association will enable the Danish Shipowners' Accident Insurance Association (UFDS) in future to use e-mails and other forms of electronic communication in its dealings with the shipping companies.
This change forms part of a general update of the Articles, adopted at an online general meeting at the end of September.
“The previous version of the Articles did not allow for the use of electronic mail and document exchange, among other things. We felt that this was not in keeping with the times. We have therefore added a new chapter, which allows for the use of electronic communication as an alternative to normal letter post,” says Lars Henneberg, chairman of UFDS.
In practice, this means that the UFDS in future can use e-mails to convene ordinary and extraordinary general meetings, attaching agendas and complete proposals, proxy forms, statements by the Board and auditor’s opinions, interim annual reports, annual reports and all other notices and documents.
